Finishing the Story

10 November 2008

Don’t you hate it when you read a news story, get all emotionally involved in it, but then never find out how things end up? News media are only interested in stories “as they break”, but those of us with long memories are stuck circling in the drama of the moment, never able to put the drama to rest. You know what I’m talking about?

I realized the other day that things have gotten much better than my lost pet mojo days. A month ago, I wasn’t too happy with the animals in general, and the dog in particular.

But now all the furniture urine-marked by the tenants’ big dogs is gone. The UTI has cleared up. Most importantly, we got the invisible fence working again, so I can put Zephyr outside; she won’t run away, she’ll happily do her business, and sit in the sun (on the warm days we had up until this week).

No more accidents inside. I even trust her out and about in the house again when I leave to run errands.

And you know what?

Happy basenji

She’s a pretty good dog, yes indeed she is.

Your pets were probably stressed over moving back home, but it sounds as if they’ve gotten over that now. Yay! And Zephyr is still adorable. I can just imagine snorgling her (i.e., burrowing my face into her fur) just at the axis of neck and head, back toward her ear. 🙂

What on earth would we do without our animals?
