Sunday Earworms

9 November 2008

Last night we went to see the high school production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Today, the Consort has had the eponymous tune stuck in his head. I, being an odd duck, have had a less-remembered, but more addicting, song swirling around my head.

I did get rid of it, eventually. For a completely unrelated tune from the eighties.

Why? Whyyyyyyyyy?

Well, I just have to confess that I know the words to every song in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. Although that may suggest I am of a musically pious nature, I also know the words to every song in the musical Hair.

Stew: That one got burned in my mind in the 1970s. Didn’t Helen Reddy do a version? Some woman songstress did, and it was all over the easy listening station my parents listened to.

Hi Linda: “Musically pious”, indeed! I wonder what knowing all the words to Hair means, then. 😉

My hair like Jesus wore it
    Hallelujah! I adore it
    Hallelujah! Mary love her son
Why don’t my mama love me?
    Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaair!

(crap! That’s gonna be stuck in my head all day now.)
