You Gotta Do What You Gotta Do

18 September 2008

Every day, I have to check my horoscope. I know, I know — it’s a silly fancy and it means nothing. Except that often, I find correspondences.

Who cares if I share the same horoscope as one-twelfth of the population? I would never make an important decision based on my horoscope, of course!

But this morning, I read this:

So I’m thinking that it was a super-fabulous night for my friend E to schedule a Women’s Night Out at a local drinkery.

I am definitely going to be there.

If I thought my popularity was “about to explode into overdrive,” I would go hide under the covers.

But I might come out for “local drinkery.”

I’m a Capricorn too – but the only person I am spending this evening with is Moira. Oh well – I don’t have time for my popularity to explode into overdrive anyway. 😉

So how did your popularity explosion go?

OK you guys, until you mentioned it I hadn’t realized the innuendo around “explosion”. Sheesh.

It was lots of fun (stayed out past curfew — it was after 11 when I got home!)

The place we went to had great small plates; we shared mushroom caps, chipotle hummus, tapenade in pastry, bruschetta, mm mmm. Then I split a flourless chocolate cake piece. pretty tasty, too.

There were some women I know really well, and a few I didn’t; but everyone was fun to talk with.

I offered to drive two of my friends, so I was good: I had one cosmopolitan, and then lots of water.

I think we’ll be doing this again soon. (With or without “explosions” of popularity)

I check my horoscope every day too. I’m a Libra.
And I sure wish I was close enough to join in that girl’s night out.

Sounds tame to me, but I’m glad your horoscope pushed you into socialising.
