Almost Three Weeks
2008 November 19
Here it is the nineteenth, and today is the first day of NaBloPoMo that I haven’t felt energized to write. Not too shabby!
We had several of the Consort’s colleagues over for dinner tonight. I made some sourdough, a batch of cornbread (because several people RSVP’d late, and I worried I didn’t have enough bread to go around), a huge pot of vegetarian chili, and apple tarts in puff pastry for dessert.
Now the guests have gone home, but the house is still clean.
That’s my favorite part about having people over: the fact that the house remains neat and in order for a little while afterwards.

Wait. How did you do that?
When we (rarely) have people over, I have a bunch of crap to clean up and put away afterwards…
Well, sure, there are dishes and stuff to put away. But the bathrooms are clean, the clutter had been put away, the furniture is dusted: the house is clean!
So true! We had the Ski Patrol dinner/board meeting here Wednesday and the house is cleaner than it’s been in a good while! And several days of leftover ribollita to boot!
